The International Archaeology Association (IAA) is responsible for keeping all things supernatural under wraps. It's also responsible for ruining the promising archaeology career of Alix Biboux, better known as Owl. Needless to say, Owl's still a little sore about that. So when the IAA opens a bounty on the two designers of World Quest, Owl's favorite online role-playing game that is much, much more than it seems, Owl and her partner, Rynn, race to locate the notorious gaming duo before the IAA's mercenaries can find them. But when Owl tracks the pair to the legendary lost city of Shangri-La, she realizes that there is far more at stake than a quick reward. And the closer that Owl gets to the gamers, the more she suspects that they don't want to be found at all. Meanwhile, the supernatural community is in turmoil. As ancient alliances break down and parties struggle for power, Owl and her friends are dragged into a deadly game of wits with an opponent who calls himself the Electric Samurai. It's a high-stakes game, on that Owl can't afford to lose if she's going to prevent the two most powerful supernatural factions from spiraling into an all-out civil war.
